Eligible Vehicle Assistance
Financial assistance may be provided for essential vehicle repairs that restore or maintain safe and reliable transportation for qualified applicants. Eligible assistance may include, but is not limited to:
Brake system repairs
Wheel bearings and hub assemblies
Batteries
Starters
Alternators
Cooling system repairs (radiators, water pumps, thermostats, hoses, etc.)
Steering system repairs
Suspension repairs
Engine and transmission repairs when necessary to restore reliable transportation
Tires, when necessary for the safe operation of the vehicle
Vehicle diagnostics related to approved repairs
Oil changes when determined to be necessary as part of an approved repair or when the vehicle is significantly overdue for service and failure to perform the oil change could compromise the reliability or longevity of the vehicle
Transmission fluid services, when determined by an approved repair facility to be necessary to preserve the safe and reliable operation of the vehicle or when recommended as part of an approved repair
Other repairs necessary to return the vehicle to a safe, reliable, and roadworthy condition
What Is Not Covered
Cosmetic repairs, performance upgrades, luxury accessories, routine maintenance, and other non-essential vehicle improvements are not eligible.
Vehicle & Value Exclusions
- Repairs over vehicle value
- Luxury and exotic brands (BMW, Mercedes, Land Rover, etc.)
- Commercial or income vehicles (rideshare, delivery, commercial vans)
- Salvage or unsafe titles (cracked frames, severe structural rust)
System & Component Exclusions
- Air conditioning systems (unless documented medical need)
- In-car entertainment (stereos, infotainment, backup cameras)
- Cruise control systems
- Power windows and sunroofs (unless stuck open to the elements)
