Drive Forward Lane County provides financial assistance for essential vehicle repairs that help individuals maintain employment, seek employment, attend school, or continue significant volunteer work.

Current Program Status

Drive Forward Lane County is currently accepting applications for future consideration. Applications are welcome; however, they will not be reviewed and applicants should not expect a response until sufficient funding has been secured. Submitting an application does not guarantee assistance.

Thank you for your interest in Drive Forward Lane County. We understand how difficult it can be when reliable transportation stands between you and your job, education, or the opportunity to serve your community. Please read the following information before submitting your application.

Funding is limited and subject to donations received.
Meeting the eligibility requirements does not guarantee assistance.
Assistance is provided solely at the discretion of the Board of Directors.
Additional documentation may be requested.
Approved repairs are paid directly to approved repair facilities.
Applicants are responsible for arranging transportation to and from the repair facility while their vehicle is being serviced. If transportation presents a hardship, please let us know in your application.
Repair assistance is subject to available funding and program policies.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

Live or work in Lane County, Oregon.
Demonstrate financial need.
Own the vehicle or be the primary authorized driver.
Have a valid driver's license.
Need reliable transportation to maintain employment, seek employment, attend school/college/vocational training, participate in a workforce development program, or perform significant volunteer work that benefits the community.
Require an essential repair needed to restore safe and reliable transportation.

Required Documents

Applicants should be prepared to provide:

Completed application
Valid driver's license
Vehicle registration or title (or proof of authorized use)
Proof of Lane County residence or employment
Documentation showing current employment, job search/interview, job offer, school enrollment, workforce development participation, or significant volunteer commitment
Letter explaining why the repair is needed, how the vehicle is used, how the repair will help, and why financial assistance is needed

Drive Forward Lane County encourages applicants to contribute what they reasonably can toward the cost of their repair. Even a small contribution helps us extend limited funding and assist more Lane County residents.

Financial Need Verification

Drive Forward Lane County may request documentation to verify financial need or an applicant's ability to contribute toward the cost of the repair. Documentation may include proof of income, pay stubs, benefit statements, or other supporting information if needed to determine eligibility. Not all applicants will be required to provide income verification. Additional documentation beyond what is listed in this application may be requested during the review process.
